The new ORBAN Opticodec 7600, is the next step forward in audio transmission using ISDN – X.21 – V.35 – TCP/IP and POTS. The ORBAN Opticodec 7600 is the natural successor of one of the most used codecs the MusicTAXI.

From the ground up, Optimod-PC 1101 was designed for professionals. It has broadcast-quality digital signal processing on-board that's suitable for both live streaming and on-demand programming. OPTIMOD-PC's three on-board Freescale DSP56367 DSP chips provide a loud, consistent sound to the consumer by performing stereo enhancement, automatic gain control (AGC), equalization, multiband gain control, peak-level control, and subjective loudness control. Moreover, Optimod-PC is equipped with balanced analog inputs and outputs that can operate at professional +4dBu reference levels while resisting pickup of hum and noise.

Orban’s Optimod-FM 2300 has become renowned in the broadcast industry for delivering that big Optimod sound at a slimmed-down price. The new Optimod-FM 2300 builds on the 2200’s sound, adding stereo enhancement, more powerful equalization, anti-aliased clipping, composite limiting, and full remote control facilities. AES/EBU digital input and output is now standard, as is clock-based automation. Switching between “Two-Band Normal” and “Two-Band Purist” processing is now gap-free.

This package contains the OPTICODEC-PC 1010 PE MPEG-4 AAC/aacPlus™ encoding software and an OPTIMOD-PC 1101 PCI card. OPTICODEC-PC PE enables broadcasters to encode multiple audio streams from the same source at bit rates from 8 to 320 kbps. Optimized for streaming and digital radio, OPTIMOD-PC 1101 is a full featured stereo DAB audio processor on a PCI card for computers running Windows® 2000 (US only) and XP Pro editions. Its on-board 24-bit Motorola DSPs do all audio processing. It is also a high-quality sound card with analog I/O, AES/EBU digital output, and two mixing AES/EBU digital inputs with sample rate conversion.

Opticodec-PC is the first MPEG-4 AAC/HE-AACv1/HE-AACv2 aka aacPlus™ encoding software for high quality streaming audio. Opticodec-PC offers the most important feature that the basic netcaster is looking for in an encoding product — entertainment-quality sound at economical bit-rates.

The software is sold separately only for clients who already possess an Orban Optimod-PC 1101 or 1100 processing/soundcard. If you also need the card Orban offers it as a package called Orban Opticodec-PC 1211

The new Optimod 5300 uses most of the power and features of more expensive Optimod processors like the Optimod 8300, but in a new smaller one-rack space unit. The perfect Optimod for use where rack space is a really big concern and space is expensive.

The Orban 6300 is a high-quality, multipurpose stereo audio processor for digital radio, digital television, netcasts, STL protection, satellite uplink protection, and digital mastering. With 20 kHz audio bandwidth, the 6300 succeeds Orban's popular OPTIMOD-DAB 6200 audio processor but offers improved processing algorithms and more flexibility.

Ever since Orban introduced Optimod-FM 8400, stations that couldn't afford its admittedly premium price have coveted the loudness, cleanliness, competitiveness, and consistency that only an 8400 could provide. But good things come to those who wait. Introducing Optimod-FM 8300: a mid-priced processor with many of the sound processing features that were previously available only to 8400 owners.

The all-digital OPTIMOD-TV 8382 Audio Processor can help you achieve excellent audio quality and loudness consistency in analog television broadcasting that uses FM aural carriers with 75 µs or 50 µs pre-emphasis. Because all processing is performed by high-speed mathematical calculations within Motorola DSP56362 Digital Signal Processing chips, the processing has cleanliness, quality, and stability over time and temperature that is unmatched by analog processors.

The 8500 builds on the proven, competitive sound of 8400 version 3 while adding features that make it the ideal choice for FM stations simultaneously transmitting iBiquity’s HD Radio®, Eureka 147, or a netcast (where it works particularly well with Orban’s aacPlus® Opticodec-PC® LE).

For HD Radio broadcasters who prefer using a separate processor for the HD channel, the 8500FM's built-in 8-second delay in the analog processing path vastly improves installation versatility in HD Radio facilities, freeing you from the need to use the delay line built into the HD Radio exciter.

Experience has shown that the mass television audience wants two things from television audio: dialog should be comfortably intelligible and commercials should not be irritatingly loud compared to program material. Home theater owners may want the opportunity to watch feature films while hearing a wide dynamic range signal. However, even these viewers usually consume television in a much more passive way when viewing garden-variety programs. To be an acceptable part of the domestic environment, television sound cannot overwhelm household members not interested in viewing (not to mention neighbors, particularly in multi-family dwellings). For a variety of reasons, the dynamic range of sound essential to the intelligibility of the program should not exceed 15 dB in a domestic listening environment. Underscoring and ambient sound effects will, of course, be lower than this.
